Updated Diplomatic and Consular listings in Spain: A key resource for foreign nationals | January 2026

By ARC Legal Published on: January 02, 2026
Official update of diplomatic and consular representations accredited in Spain, of particular relevance for immigration procedures and consular assistance.

Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published the updated official listings of embassies, consulates, and international organizations accredited in the country, as of December 30, 2025. These documents are especially useful for both immigration professionals and foreign nationals living in Spain who need to know which consular authority they can turn to for procedures or emergencies.

⏺️ What do these lists include?

There are two key documents:

  • Diplomatic Corps List, which includes all officially accredited embassies and diplomatic missions based in Spain.
  • Consular Missions List, which covers general consulates, honorary consulates, and official representation offices, including contact details, addresses, and service hours.

These documents are regularly updated by the Ministry and help individuals identify the right consular authority based on their nationality.

⏺️ Why is this information important?

Knowing which consulate or embassy is competent for your case is essential in many administrative or legal procedures related to immigration, such as:

  • Legalisation or apostille of documents issued in your home country
  • Requesting consular certificates
  • Visa processing
  • Registering with your consulate or renewing national documents
  • Emergency assistance and consular protection

Many embassies and consulates also provide critical services such as issuing national documents, assisting detained citizens, or helping in repatriation procedures. Having access to this information can help avoid delays and ensure your paperwork is processed correctly.
